Founded in 1904, today Wake Forest Baptist Health is a system with more than 2,500 staff members. High Point Regional Hospital offers 351 private beds for medical and surgical patients and serves over 120,000 patients each year with six primary service areas: Carolina Regional Heart Center, Hayworth Cancer Center, The Neuroscience Center, The Esther R. Culp Women’s Center, The Emergency Center and The Piedmont Joint Replacement Center. Other services offered include the Rehab Center, the Millis Regional Health Education Center, the Regional Wound Center, the Diabetes Self Care Management Center, The Vascular Center and High Point Behavioral Health.
High Point is home to two of the state’s top healthcare providers, Wake Forest Baptist Health and Cornerstone Health Care, with four other regional healthcare systems within driving distance. Local primary service areas include centers for cardiac care, cancer treatment, neuroscience, women’s health, emergency medicine and joint replacement.
The area also offers 30 home healthcare providers, several urgent care centers, hearing aid centers, more than 15 exercise and wellness centers, nearly a dozen pharmacies and ten long-term care facilities.
